48 group games completed and only 1 of them finished 0-0 which is a new record for the World Cup. Another first time ever was Japan going through and Senegal going out today on the fair play rule. Germany going out and finishing bottom of the group is one of the biggest shocks ever in the World Cup. They won't be world number 1 in the FIFA world rankings much longer. Argentina were lucky to have got through but I don't think they will get any further than the quarter finals. England losing by just 1-0 to Belgium isn't too bad. It could have been much worse. Neither side cared very much about the game. Finishing second has given England an easier route if we were to get to the final. Last 16 Colombia, quarter finals Sweden/Switzerland, semi finals Spain/Russia/Croatia/Denmark and then probably Brazil, Belgium or Portugal in the final.
