The Show

The Selector – Three minute hero (played during the chart countdown)

The Revillos – Motorbike Beat

Looking and sounding like something from the Rocky Horror show.

Kenny Rogers – Coward of the county

Classic country song from Kenny Rogers. “Son,you don’t have to fight to be a man”

Azymuth – Jazz Carnival (Danced to by legs and co)

All women dressed as colourful animals, some in cages, supposedly representing a carnival.

John Foxx – Underpass

John Foxx with an extra X,on top of the pops. You can see the synth pop starting to creep more and more into the charts. Sounds a bit like a poor mans OMD.

Madness – My Girl

Suggs and the band looking resplendent in white toxedos, appearing in front of a giant 1980 sign. Madness are without doubt one of the best bands to come out of the 80s,they have such a great back catalog of songs that they are still touring today.

The Shadows: – Riders in the Sky

The Shadows a relic from the dawn of rock n roll in the UK in the 50s,still doing their stuff in 1980.

Rupert Holmes – Escape (The Pina Colada Song)

Rupert looks nothing like a pop star,in fact he looks more like an insurance salesman, which is probably what he is doing today.

Ramones – Baby, I Love You

The Ramones looking cool as **** singing this 1963 song by the Ronettes, and sounding rather good.

Jon & Vangelis – I Hear You Now

They showed the official video,in true Jon & Vangelis style it was probably cutting edge at the time, but looks rubbish now.

Billy Ocean – Are You Ready

Billy before he met his Caribbean Queen.

New Musik – Living By Numbers

Sounds uncannily like the Lightning seeds.

Keith Michell – Captain Beaky

The charts were weird in 1980,said Captain Beaky and his band.

The Specials – Too much Too young

Worthy of the number 1 spot,Terry Hall and the Specials all looking very young.

Queen – Save Me (Played out to the end credits)
